Define your Area of Interest (AOI) - the geographic region you want to analyse. Draw it on the map, or upload an existing boundary file. Once set, click Generate Report to run the analysis.
Supported formats
Upload GeoJSON, KML, or Shapefile (.zip). Multi-feature uploads are automatically merged into a single shape. Drawn polygons can be edited or removed individually.
Multiple polygons
You can draw or upload several polygons. Each new polygon is added to the current AOI - all polygons present when you click Generate Report are included in the analysis.
Overlapping areas
Overlapping polygons are automatically merged into a single shape before analysis - no area or feature is counted twice.
Clearing the AOI
Use "Remove all" to clear all polygons and start fresh. Individual polygons can be removed with the ✕ button in the list.

The NEMA Exposure Tool (NExT) is a geospatial analysis tool currently in public beta. It estimates
the population, address points and critical infrastructure - including hospitals, aged care
facilities and power stations - within an area you provide, with results attributed
by local government area.

They are calculated automatically from third-party datasets that may be incomplete or
out of date, and have not been independently verified.
